Born in Brazil, Viviani has been living in Amsterdam, Netherlands, since 1990—the city where she established her artistic career and graduated from the prestigious Rotterdam Conservatory. It was through a major professional project, which challenged her to perform songs in Dutch, that she developed a deep fascination for the local songbook. This milestone sparked an overwhelming passion for the repertoire of icons such as Paul van Vliet, Toon Hermans, and Ramses Shaffy, serving as her definitive gateway into the universe of Kleinkunst.
Projects
For over three decades, Viviani Godoy has had an artistic career in the Netherlands, spanning music, theatre, cinema, and television. As the lead singer of the band Electro Côco, she released the album *Côco do Mundo* and received both an Essent Award and an Edison Award for Best National World Music. She has performed at venues and festivals including Paradiso, Melkweg, Bimhuis, North Sea Jazz, and Lowlands. On Dutch television, she has appeared on programs such as *Barend & Van Dorp* (RTL4), *Raymann is Laat* (NTR), and MTV; she has also made appearances on *De Laatste Show* (TV1) in Belgium and on the Indonesian network RCTI. In film, she was part of the cast of the feature film *Transit*, directed by Eddy Terstall.
Viviani is currently involved in a major production in the Netherlands, directed by the award-winning Dutch director Titus Tiel Groenestege .
